The Lunar Orbiter
In 1966, this photo, taken by the Lunar Orbiter, was the first ever photograph of the earth as seen from the moon. The photo was made possible by a motion compensation system created by Emil Bolsey.
The Joshi Effect
In the 1930s, Professor S. Joshi (father of Chitra Adarkar) discovered that electrical currents in some gases are affected by light irradiation. This effect is called ‘The Joshi Effect” to this day.
